The American Helicopter Museum and Education Center (AHMEC) has decided to focus on more diverse activities this year in lieu of its annual November Gala fundraiser. It has increased its monthly offerings to incorporate a variety of opportunities.
“This year we want to take the Museum in a different direction regarding our fundraising efforts,” explained Paul Kahan, AHMEC’s Executive Director, “such as smaller events that help to support our community and create educational opportunities for visitors of all ages.
Upcoming events include an ongoing speaker’s series, interesting science-based workshops for kids ages 6 through 12, and fun events like the upcoming FamilyFest on June 24, Haunted Helicopters on October 28, and SantaFest on December 9. Additionally, two week-long summer camps offer science demonstrations, hands-on activities, and more.
“We really appreciate the support we have received so far this year for these programs,” Kahan added. “We have been able to expand our exhibit space and add more interactive exhibits, as well as create a fun kids play area.”
